Persönlicher Kommentar der Studentin:
I am a Kenyan Maasai lady who fortunately got educated despite the fact that the tribe hardly educate girls. Our community despise girls as weak persons who will never be successful especially in education. Therefore, my father always concentrated on his boys education but for us we are just to pass time in school to become big enough to get married.
Fortunately, I happen to complete my form four level with a good grade without dropping out of school as most girls in the community did. However, that did not convinced my dad to allow me to continue with my studies. He claimed to marry me off with a reason of having school fees to enable me further my education.
In the community some people encourage education on girls who do not drop out of school. Therefore they contributed some money as a community and rescued me to the nearby university despite the fact that the money is not enough to enable me complete my degree course. When the university refused to allow me to do the second semester second year exam, due to school fees balance, I found myself going back to the recent state of despire.
However, God is so kind and merciful that after a period of time I knew Zikomo through Inge who came to our community with Getrude and their friend and I raised hope o realizing my dreams and visions again. For you Zikomo, am seriously praying God to expand your boundaries and bless you abundantly for being s concerned about some students with problems related to mine.
Most appreciation for my contact person Martina, Inge and the rest. Am praying God for you and I know one day God will make us meet one of these days. Nice moments:The photos are mine, one of them I am wearing Maasai Attire.
