Dennis Brief an ZIKOMO:

Liebe ZIKOMOs,

Ich schreibe diesen Brief, um meine Dankbarkeit an ZIKOMO und seine Mitglieder für die Gewährung eines Stipendiums auszudrücken, mit dem ich meine Ausbildung auf ein tertiäres Level heben kann.

Mein Name ist Dennis Doe Quarshie, ich bin 21 Jahre alt und in meinem ersten Jahr an der Accra Technical University, an der ich derzeit ein Fachdiplom in Maschinenbau mache. Nach diesem plane ich, einen einjährigen Masterkurs anzuhängen.

Mein Traum ist es, Maschinenbauingenieur zu werden, sowie die mittellosen und bedürftigen Kindern in meiner Community zu unterstützen. Vor Kurzem habe ich die St. Paul Technical School, eine der besten technischen Schulen des Landes, abgeschlossen und ein einmonatiges Praktikum an der Accra Brewery Company Limited absolviert, um die nötigen Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen im technischen Feld zu sammeln. Nun wurde ich an der Accra Technical University für ein Studium im Fach Maschinenwesen angenommen. Ich liebe Maschinentechnik und habe Leidenschaft dafür, weil es meine Art zu denken und mein Wissen in verschiedenen Bereichen erweitert.

Wir sind zwei Geschwister, ich bin der ältere. Meine jüngere Schwester Patricia, die von der Organisation Love Works Ministries unterstützt wird, ist siebzehn Jahre alt und in ihrem zweiten Jahr an der Presbyterian Senior High School in Osu. Meine Mutter ist Verkäuferin, hatte aber einen Autounfall im Jahr 2018, durch den sie nicht mehr laufen kann. Dadurch kann sie nicht mehr auf den Markt gehen, um zu verkaufen und befindet sich nun zur medizinischen Behandlung in Songakope in der Volta Region. Mein Vater lebt dort mit ihr und arbeitet derzeit nicht, um meine Mutter zu pflegen. Ich lebe mit meiner jüngeren Schwester Patricia in Agbogbloshie, einem Slum/Elendsviertel in Accra.

Letztes Jahr habe ich die Schule beendet, konnte wegen der finanziellen Krise meiner Eltern aber nicht mit einer tertiären Ausbildung weitermachen. Ich bin glücklich, dass ZIKOMO mir dieses Stipendium gewährt. Ich bin nun ein stolzer Teil der ZIKOMO-Familie, das bedeutet mir viel. Zum Schluss möchte ich noch hervorheben, dass ich entschlossen bin, das Beste aus diesem Stipendium zu machen.

Nochmal ein großes DANKE an jedes Mitglied von ZIKOMO und seine Sponsor*innen und Spender*innen. Möge Gott euch reich segnen für eure guten Taten.

This is Dennis letter to ZIKOMO:

Dear ZIKOMO,

I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude to ZIKOMO and its proud members for granting me scholarship to further my education to the tertiary level.
My name is Dennis Doe Quarshie and I am twenty one years old. I am in my first year at Accra Technical University and I am currently pursuing my Higher National Diploma (HND) in mechanical engineering for three years which I also plan to further up with one year master’s degree after I graduate.
My dream is to become a mechanical engineer in the near future and to also help the poor but needy children in my community. I successfully completed St. Paul Technical School which is one of the best technical school in the country and I have gain admission to study mechanical engineering at Accra Technical University. I also offered one month internship program with Accra Brewery Company limited while I was in high school to get the relevant industrial skills and experience. I love mechanical engineering because it’s something I have passion for and also it broadens your way of thinking and also expands your knowledge on different things.
We are two siblings and I am the eldest. My younger sister, Patricia who is been supported by Love Works Ministries is seventeen years old and she is in her second year at the Presbyterian Senior High School at Osu. My mother is a trader but had car accident in the year 2018 and due to that she is not able to walk on her own so she is not able to go to the market to sell anymore but she is currently taking herbal treatment at Sogakope in the Volta region of Ghana. My father who is currently unemployed is living in Sogakope in the Volta region taking care of my mother while she get medical treatment. I live with my younger sister Patricia at Agbogbloshie (a slum community)
I completed my senior high school level last year but couldn’t continue to the tertiary level last year because of my parent’s financial crisis. I am happy ZIKOMO has granted me this scholarship. I am now a proud beneficiary and part of the ZIKOMO family, it really means a lot to me and at the end I would like to point out that I am determined to make the most out of this scholarship.
