Precious wrote to ZIKOMO: Hello ZIKOMO,

I’m so very happy that I have finally completed my bachelors of social work and it wasn’t going to be possible without ZIKOMO, the Styrian government, each single donor and everyone who has been contributing to ensure that the less privileged are granted an opportunity to higher education. I do believe that education is the key to success as it opens doors to many opportunities and once you have it no one can take it away from you.

I started pursuing my social work career in 2010 and graduated in 2015 at Cavendish University Zambia. I must confess that from the time I started I have grown mentally, psychologically and learnt a number of skills. I have learnt how to work in a team, plan, organise, negotiate, communicate effectively, handle conflicts, associate with people and much more. The knowledge and skills I have acquired will help me in my career and at personal level.

My plan now is to find a job which allows me to use the skills and the knowledge I have acquired, so that I may help to improve the welfare of many people. I’m also hoping that I can advance my studies to a Master’s level one day.

My dream is to see ZIKOMO growing bigger so that more vulnerable young people can have the opportunity to acquire higher education. I’m dreaming that all ZIKOMO graduates will utilise the knowledge, skills and abilities they have acquired to their fullest potential.

It is my wish that one day I will be able to contribute to the ZIKOMO family in one way or another because if someone out there didn’t contribute, I wouldn’t have been able to study social work.

From the time I have been in school, ZIKOMO has been supportive and responding rapidly to requests even at short notice.
